Why Health Insurance does not pay for Chantix to help people quit smoking?
Why Health Insurance does not pay for Chantix, for help people quit smoking? I recently received a prescription for Champix for smoking cessation, and insurance will not pay for it? The pharmacist told me almost no pay for this insurance. Why is it that we are told by scientists, doctors, media, and yes we have to make sure smoking, yet insurance will not pay or help us have a chance of success in quitting smoking?
Get switched to generic Zyban (bupropion). Bupropion is almost always covered, as it has two indications: depression and smoking cessation. Not as good as Chantix, but much better than anything else. Most Chantix pay for insurance or require prior authorization.
